About Us

Co Tour Gallery specializes in custom exhibitions, inviting viewers to “walk with us” through a unique perspective, often featuring new releases, rare works, and anonymous artists.  Co Tour schedules private viewings of current collections and hosts pop-up exhibitions. The website is being built to handle the bulk of the exhibitions, while the brick-and-mortar in Detroit’s McDougall Hunt neighborhood is under development.

“My goal is for Co Tour Gallery to be a global showcase for local artists. I am honored to represent Louis Redstone’s work. His watercolors are an important part of the Detroit legacy; each piece shows his consistent experiments in watercolor and the development of his unique abstract expressionist style,”~ Kalissa Maxwell.

Who We Are

Kalissa Maxwell, owner of Co Tour Gallery, is a practicing artist and jewelry designer and has collected art for many years.  She is a fifth-generation Detroiter with family ties to Augustus Woodward. Kalissa became rooted on the eastside when she purchased an old Baptist church built in the Greek Revival style.  The church is a humble single-story wooden structure with a gabled roof. Here, Co Tour Gallery was founded when she discovered Redstone paintings in her mother’s estate.  Her taste in art was influenced by her mother, Karen Hunt, who deeply admired Redstone paintings during her internship at the architecture firm in the 90’s.
